Requirements
Both Old and New Testament Bible History Illusrated are two-semester courses (four credit hours) which can be taught during the school year of 34 weeks, or divided up into four sections over a longer period of time. Grades are given on a semester (two terms) basis, but each term's work is final and not repeated. So a term of the course could be completed and followed, say, by a summer break, then the next term could commence after the break. Missionary Outpost does, however, encourage a projected date for the beginning and the ending of the course, so that the student will feel a structure for his or her study.
Approximate Weekly Time Requirement:
Total of 2-4 hours homework to do the following:
- Read about 20 Bible chapters for the OT and one NT book for the NT course
- Read several pages from the textbook along with the Homework sheet for OT, and from the Handbook for NT.
- Answer 25 questions in the OT workbook and review for testing. Answer all questions in the NT workbook relating to the particular NT book assigned and prepare for testing over them at the upcoming class session.
The first week of the OT course requires 85 minutes to view the DVD
because of an orientation time explaining the requirements of the course and how to fulfil those requirements. But since there is no testing on that day, the total time will still remain the same as other sessions. All the NT DVD lectures are from 59-64 minutes
The weekly class session requires about 90 minutes: 15-20 minutes for taking the quiz and grading it in class, 60 minutes for the DVD and a ten minute coffee break in the middle of the session!
More information is given under the chapter marker Materials explaining how the student uses each book.
