Old Testament Bible History Guidebook Illustrated

This beautiful hardback book of 316 large-size pages has many illustrative pictures for easy reading.  Besides serving as the textbook for Old Testament survey courses in colleges, the Guidebook is the textbook for the new integrated course with the Workbook and DVD Library.

The Guidebook has some new features not usually found in a survey book including the following:
“Under the Glass” section for each Bible book with meanings of names and selected words
“Wrap-up” section for each book that has received some good comments. It helps the student tie the different strands of the book into something meaningful which can be accessed.
“Finding Christ” is a helpful and very important section for each Bible book.
“A Slice of the Life” series of seven articles gives a cultural background to different aspects of Israel‘s history.

The Old Testament Bible History Workbook

The student will answer about 30 review questions weekly using the Guidebook  to search the answers. The student will be tested weekly over these questions.

Class sheets are included in the Workbook for completion each week from the viewing of the DVD in the classroom. They should periodically be checked by the supervisor for being filled out. The student will complete periodically map exercises placed in the Workbook.

The DVD Library

This is made up of ten DVDs containing thirty hours of teaching lectures over the Guidebook material. The DVDs employ 900 high-resolution pictures along with 1800 visuals and 260 map views. The teaching covers every book of the Old Testament attempting to give the studenty a sense of the unity, purpose and chronology of the Old Testament coupled with many practical lessons to apply in daily life.

The Supervisor’s Manual
This manual provides the person who is leading the class all relevant information for testing with a complete set of answers for all review questions. Each week the supervisor will need to photocopy the appropriate quiz/exam sheet so as to administer it to the students. Generally, after completing the quiz/exam, the students would be asked to exchange test papers. Then the supervisor will lead in grading the papers and then collect them. After recording the grades, all quizzes and exams must be destroyed by the leader. More information is provided under the chapter markers, Running the Class and the Grading section.

This book contains more than 1150 review questions over the material of the Handbook. All quizzes or exams are based on these review questions. Included are Class Sheets which are to be filled out while viewing the DVD lecture in class.

This manual provides the leader of the class with all relevant information for testing with a complete set of answers for all review questions. All the quizzes and exams are provided, and there is a separate section with complete answer keys for all. Class Sheets also have answer keys. Each week the supervisor will need to photocopy the appropriate quiz sheet to be administered. Generally, after completing the quizzes, the students would be asked to exchange quiz papers. Then the supervisor will lead in grading the papers and then collect them. After recording the grades, all quiz and exam sheets are to be destroyed by the leader of the class.
