New Widescreen DVD Demo for New and Old Testament Bible History

This fifty-nine minute DVD Demo contains a personal introduction, an overview of the courses, Acts and the first missionary journey of Paul, a challenging section from 2 Timothy about finishing the course and an informative section from 1 Peter about the home. Three OT sections or chapters follow: Mt. Sinai, Tell Jericho and Hezekiah's Tunnel.

This Demo (above) can be fully viewed online. It is accessed from the home main page of MissionaryOutpost.com. However, if the DVD Demo is required, for instance, for public viewing to promote the beginning of a proposed study,, it can be requested free from Missionary Outpost.

Suitable DVD players

Testing has shown that a good name-brand DVD player is the safest way to go for our OT media. Our quality checks were all made with a standard Sony DVD player. We strongly advise the use of a good name-brand player which is relatively inexpensive today. We are unable to solve the problems that some of the cheap players may encounter, although some of the cheap players now in 2008 seemingly play almost anything without  issue. .

The NT media is widescreen 16:9 on dual layer DVDs. There are some older DVD players which may not properly play the dual layer DVD. This is a rare problem that is simply a fall-out of the fastly emerging technology as it overlaps the old.

Other information about the DVD Media

The Old Testament course with thirty DVD lessons is packaged in two or three lovely albums. The New Testament course with thirty DVD lessons is packaged in one album of 10 Dual-layer DVDs. Replacements for any DVD will cost $10.00 each including postage.

Each DVD lesson is approximately 60 minutes in length except the opening Old Testament lesson  which is 85 minutes due to orientation instructions.

Care should be taken in handling the DVDs. They are marvellous media but can be easily damaged by careless handling. Fingerprints on the bottom surface could damage the DVD. It should be handled carefully and should not be left in direct sunlight nor in extreme heat.

To remove the DVD from the plastic sleeve in the album, extend the index finger into the sleeve on the top label side of the DVD, insert it into the center hole and pull the DVD out with the thumb on the outer edge.

List of DVD Old Testament Chapter Markers

These chapter markers on the menu of each DVD denote a general outline of most major subjects covered on the DVD, though not all. There is a maximum of eight chapters in each lecture, so we attempted to mention the main headings. This list may be helpful and is included here. This list will be approximate since some names may vary slightly due to last-minute revisions in editing.
